SUMMER

The summer seems to bring a great many pleasures to everyone in the world, when it arrives.

The sky has a lovely blue tint, and beautiful white clouds pass by like great fleeces of wool,  The air is hot and everyone is longing for a little breeze.  All the plants and flowers seem to look their best and give out most beautiful fragrance – as the Rose, Wallflower etc.

No one likes to be indoors during the summer months, every person makes as much sport as possible for himself; some go to the sea side, others go on excursions etc.

On a hot day it is very nice to sit and read under the shade of a large tree, to get a cold bath, or it is very refreshing to get a dip in the sea.

Nothing delights those that live in cities more than a few weeks in the country during those pleasant months.  To go through the fields and get the smell of the new mown hay or to take a walk in the woods and gather the wild flowers which abound plentifully all around the place, make one enjoy the many pleasures of summer.

Oh, the Summer night

Has a smile of light,

And she sits on a sapphire throne:

Whilst the sweet winds load her

With garlands of odour

From the bud to the rose o’erblown!
