What a pleasant surprise on the morning of 24 August 2019 when I opened my back door to find this little creature sitting on the step. He remained for 15 minutes allowing me to photograph him before flying off to his sanctuary. It is not uncommon to see a Kingfisher around the river in Abbey but this was my first sighting of a little one.
