Ginger Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Bread Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Mixed Spice
  • 3 teaspoons Ginger
  • 1/2 lb Cooking Butter
  • 6 ozs Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Treacle
  • 3 teaspoons Golden Syrup
  • 4 Eggs

Method

  1. Sieve dry ingredients together
  2. Turn on oven to heat at 1500
  3. Put Butter, Sugar, Treacle and Golden Syrup into saucepan and melt together on cooker
  4. When melted add 4 beaten eggs to saucepan and mix
  5. Add sieved dry ingredients to saucepan slowly and mix through
  6. Put mixture into two lined loaf tins and bake at 150for one hour
