Fruit Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Plain White Flour
  • 4 oz Currants
  • 4 oz Sultanas
  • 1 teaspoon Bread Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons Butter

Method

  1. Sift dry ingredients into large bowl and rub in butter
  2. Mix in dried fruit
  3. Add buttermilk and mix with hand, shaped like a claw
  4. Shape into a round and cut cross on top
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in pre-heated oven at 200oC
