AN ENTERTAINMENT
There was an entertainment given by Rev Fr O’Loughlin at the infant school yesterday at 12 o’clock.
All the boys and girls were present, also the school master and the nuns. Some of the songs given by the gramophone were as follows: ‘The dear little Shamrock of Ireland’, ‘Loch Lomond’ etc. It also played a jig which was danced by Miss Page and Miss Boland.
There were many songs sung as ‘Oft in the Stilly Night’ by the boys from Mr Cronan’s school. ‘The dear old tongue’ by the convent school children, also some songs by Mr Bennet, Mr Jennings, Mr Keilty, Miss Golden, Miss Keilty etc.
Everyone seemed to be delighted with the entertainment and would like to have it often. It was over about 2 o’c. p.m.
