CHILDHOOD
All old people look back with pleasure to their childhood and regard it as the happiest time of life and if by chance they lose any of its joys they regret it very much.
If you watch a little child you will see how he enjoys life playing with his cart and balls, or even a child that has got no toys to play with, life itself is a pleasure to him, if he be healthy and well able to exercise his limbs.
It is a noble thing to love an innocent little child. How a mother loves her child and does everything in her power to please him and make him enjoy himself. Children have no care, all the wants of life have been provided for them by their parents, or if God has taken their parents to Himself, those who are lawfully placed over them.
If a child does anything wrong and gets a scolding, he cries and is very sorrowful, but this only lasts for a short period of time for in a few minutes he gets his hoop or ball and it is all over.
Some old people, when sitting by the warm fireside on a cold December night would tell you with a smile on their withered faces the story of their childhood and school days.
