MISSION

The mission which was given by the Passionist Fathers, closed on Sunday evening week in Woodford.  A large number of people attended who seemed to be very much impressed by the sermons.

There were two Masses each morning, one at 7 o’clock and the other at 8 o’clock.  After the 7 o’clock Mass there was a short lecture on the Passion of Our Lord at which the priest sat while delivering.

At the closing sermon of the mission all the grown people brought candles which were lighted at the renewal of their Baptismal vows.  It was a beautiful sight to see all the lighted candles and to hear the people once more repeat those solemn words which were said for them by their sponsors.

Afterwards there was enrolling in the brown and black scapulars for all who wished to be enrolled.
