SACRED HEART MEETING
The sodality of the Sacred Heart was introduced by the Passionist Fathers during the mission in Woodford. It was organised and started by the Rev Fathers Bowes ad O’Loughlin on Sunday evening last at 5 o’clock.
There was a large attendance which pleased the parish Priest very much. Each station district formed a guild with thirty five persons in each and each of these guilds had a banner for itself with its patron saint on it. The saints selected for the women’s branch are Saints Brigid, Ann, Monica etc.
There were two persons appointed over each guild, the Prefect and Sub-prefect. Each member must wear a medal and ribbon of the Sacred Heart during the meetings which will be held monthly. Lastly there was Rosary followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. As the organising of the different guilds took rather a long time, there was no sermon.
