NEWSPAPERS
A newspaper is a sheet of paper printed and distributed at certain times to the different places throughout the country. It contains all public news, advertisements, news of law courts and such matters as may interest the people at large. There is great information got from a newspaper, it is very varied in character. We may sometimes rely on them but they are not always reliable. Old papers are often of great value for referring to past events or dates.
There is nothing in the world that will excite the pleasure of those away in different parts of the globe than the news of the places around home and therefore papers are always sent by parents to their children, as it is natural that they comfort them in all possible ways and they should return the thanks.
A newspaper from home is like the face of an old friend and are missed like friends or faithful companions. They warn us against frauds and robbers and greatly aid us in conversation. A man that reads the paper daily is able to carry on a conversation about all passing events and about the different places which form the world.
